Before the retreat dates go live on October 1st, I want to give you a little more detail about some of the mysterious mind and body experiences I've curated to personalize your retreat package.
Remember though, all of these activities are OPTIONAL. You may want to retreat to Lafayette Flats to work on your side business or creative project, and that is just fine. Your retreat should be perfectly curated FOR YOU!
But I love trying new things, and I bet you do too. So in addition to private yoga instruction, therapeutic massage and juice packages, I included a few other not-so-common optional self-care treatments.
With the exception of forest bathing, these experiences will take place in your flat or the private studio just down the hall from your flat. And don't worry, all the practitioners are licenced and insured professionals.

Thai Yoga Body Work
During Thai Yoga Body Work you will rest on a thick supportive mat, fully clothed, on the floor of your private studio at Lafayette Flats. Erin Larsen, an extensively certified yogi and exercise specialist, will use her hands and body to take you through passive stretches while your body remains soft. The session will leave you feeling lengthened and relaxed without much effort on your part. It is sometimes called "lazy man's yoga" for a very good reason.
Acupuncture is an ancient medical technique used to bring balance to your whole body. Your session will last about an hour and begin with questions about your health and habits from an On-Point Acupuncture doctor. After a whole body system review, the doctor will conduct a specific treatment to target your main concerns and symptoms (most common: headaches, anxiety, pain). This may include acupuncture needles, gua-sha (scraping to relieve inflammation) or cupping (suction to loosen muscles and improve bloodflow).
Healing Touch Energy Work is a true calling for Kyle Heeter and you will see this during your time with her. As you lay fully clothed on a massage style table, Kyle will peaceful encircle your body using light touch or no touch (your choice) to facilitate your health and healing by working with your individual energy field and the energy centers within your body (chakras). The hour-long healing therapy helps reduce stress, improve immune function, improve sleep and may enhance your sense of spiritual connection.
The name Forest Bathing is a bit misleading. It's a quick translation of Shinrin-Yoku in Japanese which means something like "using all of your senses to experience the forest." If you opt for our FREE forest bathing experience during your retreat, you will spend time in the New River Gorge forest with me and/or Shawn mindfully observing the sights, sounds, feel, smells and taste - yes taste! - of this beautiful Appalachian wonderland. It's a quiet and contemplative gentle walk in the woods.
